What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bhc generally does not provide the Approved Suppliers List to approved suppliers. However, Bhc will provide the Approved Suppliers List to both the franchisee and the master franchisee as Bhc deems advisable. Bhc will also provide contact information for the franchisee's and master franchisee's distributors and/or manufacturers of all products offered at the Bhc Restaurant.
If a franchisee or master franchisee proposes to use alternative supplies or suppliers not yet approved by Bhc, they must notify Bhc in writing and submit sufficient information, specifications, and samples for Bhc to determine compliance with system standards. Bhc will then provide written approval or disapproval within a reasonable time period, typically 30 days. Franchisees and master franchisees must not use any product, supply, material, furnishing, or equipment that Bhc has not approved.
Supplier approval depends on various factors, including product quality, delivery reliability, service standards, financial capability, customer relations, and the supplier's willingness to pay Bhc or its affiliates for the right to do business with Bhc's system. Bhc may also inspect or re-inspect the facilities and products of any approved supplier and revoke approval if the supplier fails to meet Bhc's criteria and specifications. As a condition of approval, the franchisee or supplier may need to reimburse Bhc for testing costs, including travel and lodging expenses.
