What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the estimated initial cost for the required Computer System ranges from $7,000 to $10,000. This system is essential for operating the Master Franchise Business and the BHC Restaurants. Franchisees, along with their Affiliate Franchisees and Subfranchisees, are responsible for acquiring, operating, maintaining, and upgrading the Computer System.

Bhc does not provide ongoing maintenance, repairs, upgrades, or updates for the Computer System. While a service contract is not currently required, Bhc reserves the right to mandate one in the future. The current annual cost for a service contract is estimated to be between $4,000 and $10,000 per year. Bhc also retains the right to change the point-of-sale cash register system and back-of-office computer at any time, but will not require franchisees to replace these items more than three times during the initial term of the Master Franchise Agreement.

Prospective Bhc franchisees should consider these costs and responsibilities when evaluating the franchise opportunity. The franchisee is responsible for ensuring the Computer System can interface and communicate with Bhc's system, potentially requiring additional software purchases. Additionally, franchisees must maintain a phone line, a separate modem, and an internet connection for the computer system. These ongoing technology requirements represent a significant investment and operational consideration for Bhc franchisees.
