Is attendance at Bhc's annual conference mandatory, and if so, for whom?
Bhc Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
We may periodically conduct an annual conference, convention, or training session, and if we do, we will determine its duration, curriculum, and location (section 6.2 of the MFA). Attendance of at least one Principal Equity Operator at these meetings will be mandatory (and is highly recommended for your General Manager and all other Principal Equity Operators).

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at the annual conference is mandatory for at least one Principal Equity Operator. While attendance is mandatory for this individual, Bhc highly recommends that the General Manager and all other Principal Equity Operators also attend these meetings. Bhc determines the duration, curriculum, and location of these conferences.
For a prospective Bhc franchisee, this means that they must factor in the time and cost associated with attending the annual conference. While the FDD does not specify the costs, franchisees should budget for travel, accommodation, and other related expenses. The mandatory attendance of at least one Principal Equity Operator underscores the importance Bhc places on ongoing training and networking within its franchise system.
Bhc's approach is fairly typical in the franchise industry, where franchisors often mandate or strongly encourage attendance at annual conferences to ensure franchisees stay updated on best practices, new products, and company strategies. This requirement helps maintain consistency and quality across all franchise locations. Franchisees should inquire about the typical costs and duration of these conferences to better understand the ongoing investment required beyond the initial franchise fee.
