What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not permitted to relocate their studio without prior written approval from Bft, which Bft may withhold at its discretion. If a franchisee seeks to relocate, they will be assessed a relocation fee of $5,000 at the time they submit the proposed location for the relocated studio.
Generally, Bft does not approve relocation requests after a site selection has been made and the studio has opened for business. However, Bft may consider relocation if the request is due to extreme or unusual events beyond the franchisee's control, and provided the franchisee is not in default of their Franchise Agreement.
If Bft approves a relocation request, it retains the right to approve the new site location. This approval process will follow the same manner and terms that were applied to the initial site selection. This means that even if a relocation is approved in principle, the franchisee must still find a new location that meets Bft's standards.
