What is the 'Site Acceptance Period' deadline for Bft franchisees to secure the Franchisor's acceptance of the proposed location?
Bft Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
If the Authorized Location is not identified on Exhibit 1 when Franchisee signs this Agreement, Franchisee must search for acceptable locations for the Studio within the area
identified on Exhibit 1 (the "Designated Market Area") and secure Franchisor's acceptance of the proposed location within 90 days after the Effective Date (the "Site Acceptance Period"). The Designated Market Area has been identified for the sole purpose of facilitating the orderly development of the market, and not for purposes of granting Franchisee any exclusivity or protection within the Designated Market Area. Franchisee acknowledges and agrees that Franchisor does not guarantee that Franchisee will find an acceptable site within the Designated Market Area or during the Site Acceptance Period.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the Authorized Location is not identified on Exhibit 1 when the Franchise Agreement is signed, the franchisee must secure Bft's acceptance of the proposed location within 90 days after the Effective Date. This 90-day period is referred to as the "Site Acceptance Period."
Bft emphasizes that the Designated Market Area is identified solely to facilitate orderly market development and does not grant franchisees any exclusivity or protection within that area. Bft does not guarantee that franchisees will find an acceptable site within the Designated Market Area or during the Site Acceptance Period. This means franchisees bear the risk of potentially not finding a suitable location within the given timeframe, which could impact their ability to move forward with the franchise.
If Bft accepts the franchisee's proposed site, it will designate an area around the Authorized Location as the "Designated Territory." If this information isn't in Exhibit 1 of the Franchise Agreement, Bft will complete and deliver an Authorized Location Addendum (Exhibit 2). The franchisee then has 10 days to execute and return this addendum. Failure to do so allows Bft to revoke its acceptance of the location, requiring the franchisee to propose and secure acceptance of an alternative site within the remaining Site Acceptance Period.
