What This Means (2025 FDD)
The 2025 Bft Franchise Disclosure Document outlines the process for site selection and franchise agreement execution, but it does not explicitly state the conditions required for renewal or extension of the multi-unit agreement. However, it does state that before signing a lease, the developer must sign Bft's then-current form of Franchise Agreement.
According to the FDD, the developer is responsible for locating and presenting proposed sites for Bft studios. Bft retains the right to reject any site if it does not meet their criteria or if the developer is not in compliance with existing franchise agreements or operating standards. Once Bft accepts a proposed site, the developer must sign a separate Franchise Agreement for that site.
Because the excerpt does not specify all conditions for renewal, it would be prudent for a prospective Bft franchisee to directly ask the franchisor about the specific conditions and requirements for renewing or extending the multi-unit agreement. This would include understanding the criteria for site approval, compliance requirements, and any other factors that could affect the renewal or extension process.
