What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee, or if the franchisee is an entity, the Operating Principal, is required to complete the 'Owner/Operator Training Module'. This module is part of Bft's proprietary initial training program. Bft does not charge any tuition or training fee for attending the Initial Training Program, provided all individuals attend at the same time.
As a prospective franchisee, it's important to note that while the training itself is free, you (or your Operating Principal) will be responsible for all associated costs and expenses. These expenses include transportation, meals, lodging, and any other costs incurred while attending the Initial Training Program. The exact amount spent will vary depending on factors such as the number of attendees, the distance traveled, and the type of accommodations chosen.
This requirement ensures that the owner or the designated operating principal is well-versed in the operational aspects of the Bft franchise. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as it ensures that someone in a leadership position has a thorough understanding of the Bft system. The estimated initial investment table includes a line item for 'Travel & Living Expenses While Training' with a low amount of $0 and a high amount of $2,500, indicating the potential range of these costs.
