What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must offer and accept the use of the XPASS reciprocity program as of the date of the document, which is March 14, 2025. This program allows members from the franchisee's studio, other Bft studios, and studios of other Xponential Brands to use the franchisee's studio. However, the FDD indicates that the XPASS reciprocity program is in the process of being discontinued and will only be available to employees of Xponential or its affiliates.
This means that while franchisees are currently required to participate in the XPASS program, its availability is limited and will soon be discontinued for regular members. This could impact the franchisee's ability to attract and retain members who value the flexibility of using multiple studio locations.
Prospective franchisees should inquire with Bft about the timeline for discontinuing the XPASS program and any alternative reciprocity programs that may be offered in the future. Understanding the long-term strategy for member reciprocity is crucial for assessing the potential impact on membership sales and overall studio profitability.
