What is the purpose of the Bft 'Head Coach' course?

In the event Franchisee wishes to have one (1) of the Studio's Authorized Instructors provide the Pre-Opening Instructor Training at the Studio to prospective instructors as part of the Approved Services, then that Authorized Instructor must attend and complete the "Head Coach" course provided by Franchisor's head coach designed to provide the Authorized Instructor with additional instruction necessary for that individual to become a head coach that can provide the Pre-Opening Instructor Training (each, a "Head Coach").
Franchisor is not obligated to approve any Franchisee request to send a given Authorized Instructor to Head Coaching, and Franchisee must: (i) not be in default of any provision of this Agreement as a condition to Franchisor's approval of such a request; and (ii) pay Franchisor its thencurrent Training Fee in connection with any Head Coaching provided (the "Head Coaching Fee").

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Head Coach' course is designed to equip a Bft studio's authorized instructors with the necessary skills to provide pre-opening instructor training at the franchisee's studio. This course is provided by Bft's head coach and aims to give the authorized instructor additional instruction to become a head coach capable of conducting the pre-opening training.
For a Bft franchisee, this means that instead of relying solely on trainers provided by Bft for pre-opening training, they have the option to develop their own staff to conduct this training. This could potentially offer more flexibility and cost savings in the long run, as the franchisee would not always need to bring in external trainers. However, Bft is not obligated to approve every request for an authorized instructor to attend the Head Coach training.
To have an authorized instructor attend the Head Coach course, the Bft franchisee must not be in default of any agreement provisions and must pay Bft the then-current training fee associated with the Head Coaching. Once the authorized instructor completes the Head Coach training program and is approved, Bft will provide written notice that the Head Coach can provide the Pre-Opening Instructor Training at one or more Bft studios. The franchisee must ensure that the Head Coach provides the Pre-Opening Instructor Training in strict accordance with System Standards and specifications, as well as the materials that Bft provides for use in connection with the provision of the Pre-Opening Instructor Training.
