What is the purpose of the Bft Fundamentals Training Program?
Bft Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Our Fundamentals Training Program is an instructor onboarding training for all instructors you and other System franchisees engage to work at a Studio location. Each instructor will complete onboarding training videos and testing via an online training program, using a training manual prepared specifically for the Fundamentals Training Program.
Steven Stonehouse, our Vice President of Programming & Education, will oversee most aspects of the Pre-Opening Instructor Training. Steven has been with us or our affiliates from the inception of the BFT® brand, and he has over 13 years of experience in the fitness industry and topics of instruction above generally.
We normally conduct our training on an as-needed basis, but we may change this schedule based on demand and the availability of our instructors. We may substitute other instructors to provide certain parts of the Initial Training Program or Pre-Opening Instructor Training, but these individuals will have all completed the appropriate portion of the Pre-Opening Instructor Training on which they provide instruction.
Our primary initial training programs as of the date of this Disclosure Document are described below:

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Bft Franchise Disclosure Document, the Fundamentals Training Program is designed as an instructor onboarding training program for all instructors that Bft franchisees engage to work at a studio location. Each instructor is required to complete onboarding training videos and testing through an online program, utilizing a training manual specifically created for the Fundamentals Training Program.
Bft's Vice President of Programming & Education oversees most aspects of the Pre-Opening Instructor Training. To become a Head Coach, an individual must attend and complete both the Pre-Opening Instructor Training and the Fundamentals Training Program, and be approved by Bft.
The Fundamentals Training Program is provided virtually and is available at the then-current Fundamentals Tuition Fee, as a separate offering from the Pre-Opening Instructor Training. After the studio's soft opening, if a franchisee hires any new Authorized Instructors, they will complete Pre-Opening Instructor Training with a Head Coach.
