For Bft, what is the process for an Authorized Instructor to become approved as a Head Coach?

Bft Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

any Pre-Opening Instructor Training held at the Studio is performed in accordance with System Standards; (ii) any individual that participates in the Pre-Opening Instructor Training, successfully completes that program, and passes any test that is provided in connection with the program; and (iii) no personnel provides fitness instruction or other Approved Services at the Studio unless and until such personnel successfully completes the Pre-Opening Instructor Training and passes the corresponding test. Franchisee agrees that Franchisor, as part of its right to inspect and audit the operations of the Studio on an ongoing basis, may require that Franchisee demonstrate that all required personnel has participated in and successfully completed the Pre-Opening Instructor Training and corresponding test.

  • C. Head Coaching. In the event Franchisee wishes to have one (1) of the Studio's Authorized Instructors provide the Pre-Opening Instructor Training at the Studio to prospective instructors as part of the Approved Services, then that Authorized Instructor must attend and complete the "Head Coach" course provided by Franchisor's head coach designed to provide the Authorized Instructor with additional instruction necessary for that individual to become a head coach that can provide the Pre-Opening Instructor Training (each, a "Head Coach"). Franchisor is not obligated to approve any Franchisee request to send a given Authorized Instructor to Head Coaching, and Franchisee must: (i) not be in default of any provision of this Agreement as a condition to Franchisor's approval of such a request; and (ii) pay Franchisor its thencurrent Training Fee in connection with any Head Coaching provided (the "Head Coaching Fee").
  • D. Discretionary On-Site Assistance. For the Studio's Soft Opening, Franchisor may send one (1) or more representatives to the Studio to (i) provide assistance and recommendations regarding the opening and initial operations of the Studio, and/or (ii) provide additional or refresher training associated with the Initial Training Program and/or the Pre-Opening Instructor Training, all as Franchisor determines appropriate in its discretion (collectively, the "Discretionary On-Site Assistance"). In the event Franchisor notifies Franchisee that it will be providing the Discretionary On-Site Assistance, such assistance typically lasts one (1) to two (2) days and Franchisee must ensure that Franchisee (or its Operating Principal) and all other management personnel are in attendance at the Studio during those days.
  • E. Ongoing/Refresher Training.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an Authorized Instructor can become a Head Coach by meeting certain requirements. If a franchisee wants one of their Authorized Instructors to provide Pre-Opening Instructor Training at the studio, the instructor must first attend and complete the "Head Coach" course provided by Bft's head coach. This course is designed to give the Authorized Instructor the additional training needed to become a Head Coach, which is necessary to provide the Pre-Opening Instructor Training.

However, Bft is not obligated to approve every request to send an instructor to Head Coaching. To be eligible, the franchisee must not be in default of any agreement provisions. Additionally, the franchisee must pay Bft the current Training Fee for the Head Coaching course.

Furthermore, franchisees cannot offer Pre-Opening Instructor Training at their studio until Bft approves an Authorized Instructor to attend and complete the Head Coach training program. The franchisee or instructor must pay the required Training Fee, and the instructor must complete the program and be approved as a Head Coach. Bft must then provide written notice that the Head Coach can provide Pre-Opening Instructor Training at the studio. Only Head Coaches who meet these conditions can provide the Pre-Opening Instructor Training, and they must do so in strict accordance with Bft's System Standards and materials.
