What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Pre-Opening Instructor Training Fee does not cover any personnel-related expenses for instructors attending the training. The FDD specifies that while the fee covers attendance by all instructors hired before the studio's soft opening, franchisees should budget separately for costs like travel, lodging, and wages for their staff during this training period. This means franchisees need to factor in these additional costs when planning their initial investment.
Specifically, the estimated initial investment table shows an 'Initial Instructor Training Fee' ranging from $5,000 to $5,000, payable to Bft. However, this fee only covers the cost of the training itself and not the associated personnel expenses. This is a crucial distinction for prospective franchisees as it directly impacts their initial financial outlay.
Prospective Bft franchisees should carefully consider these uncovered personnel-related expenses, such as transportation, accommodation, and wages, when budgeting for the pre-opening phase. These costs can vary significantly depending on the number of instructors, the location of the training, and the duration of the training period. It is advisable to discuss these potential costs in detail with Bft during the due diligence process to get a more accurate estimate for their specific circumstances.
