What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bft is not obligated to approve a franchisee's request to send an authorized instructor to Head Coaching. However, there are conditions that a franchisee must meet for Bft to consider the request.

First, the franchisee must not be in default of any provision of the Franchise Agreement. This means the franchisee must be in good standing with Bft and adhering to all the terms and conditions outlined in the agreement. Second, the franchisee must pay Bft's current training fee associated with Head Coaching. This fee covers the cost of the additional instruction provided to the authorized instructor to become a Head Coach.

In practical terms, this means that even if a Bft franchisee wants to develop their instructors further, Bft retains control over who gets to attend the Head Coach course. The franchisee needs to ensure they are compliant with the franchise agreement and prepared to pay the required fees, but approval is not guaranteed. This policy allows Bft to maintain quality control and ensure that only suitable candidates are trained as Head Coaches, which ultimately impacts the consistency and standards of Pre-Opening Instructor Training across the Bft system.
