What is the name of the fee a Bft franchisee must pay in connection with Head Coaching?

Bft Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

In the event Franchisee wishes to have one (1) of the Studio's Authorized Instructors provide the Pre-Opening Instructor Training at the Studio to prospective instructors as part of the Approved Services, then that Authorized Instructor must attend and complete the "Head Coach" course provided by Franchisor's head coach designed to provide the Authorized Instructor with additional instruction necessary for that individual to become a head coach that can provide the Pre-Opening Instructor Training (each, a "Head Coach").

Franchisor is not obligated to approve any Franchisee request to send a given Authorized Instructor to Head Coaching, and Franchisee must: (i) not be in default of any provision of this Agreement as a condition to Franchisor's approval of such a request; and (ii) pay Franchisor its thencurrent Training Fee in connection with any Head Coaching provided (the "Head Coaching Fee").

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee wants one of their Authorized Instructors to provide Pre-Opening Instructor Training, that instructor must complete the "Head Coach" course. The fee associated with this course is called the "Head Coaching Fee".

To have an Authorized Instructor become a Head Coach, the Bft franchisee must request approval from Bft. Approval is conditional; the franchisee must not be in default of any provision of the Franchise Agreement. Additionally, the franchisee is required to pay Bft the then-current Training Fee for the Head Coaching course, referred to as the "Head Coaching Fee."

This Head Coaching Fee is a required expense if a Bft franchisee wants to train their own instructors to conduct the Pre-Opening Instructor Training. This allows the franchisee to develop internal training capabilities, but it comes at the cost of the Head Coaching Fee and is subject to Bft's approval.
