What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Bft Developer is required to maintain accurate records concerning all transactions and written communications between the franchisor and the developer related to their activities under the agreement. These records must be accessible for examination by the franchisor's authorized representative, who has the right to inspect them at reasonable times and make extracts.
Specifically, the FDD states that all records must be kept available for at least three years after their preparation. This requirement ensures that Bft has access to necessary information for monitoring compliance and resolving any disputes that may arise during the term of the agreement.
This record-keeping requirement is a standard practice in franchising, allowing franchisors to maintain oversight and ensure brand consistency across all locations. For a prospective Bft developer, this means implementing a system for organizing and storing all relevant documents and communications for the duration specified in the agreement.
