What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Rider is an addendum to either the Franchise Agreement or the Multi-Unit Agreement. The Rider serves to modify those existing agreements. If a term is used in the Rider but not specifically defined within the Rider itself, then the definition from the underlying agreement (either the Franchise Agreement or the Multi-Unit Agreement) will apply.

For a prospective Bft franchisee, this means that it is crucial to understand both the Rider and the original agreement in their entirety. The Rider does not operate in isolation; instead, it relies on the definitions and context established in the Franchise Agreement or Multi-Unit Agreement. Franchisees should pay close attention to how terms are defined in the original agreement, as those definitions will carry over into the Rider.

This clause ensures consistency and avoids ambiguity in the interpretation of the franchise agreement. However, it also places a burden on the franchisee to be thoroughly familiar with all related documents. It is recommended that prospective franchisees carefully review both the Rider and the underlying agreement with legal counsel to fully understand their rights and obligations under the Bft franchise agreement.
