What is the general population size of a Bft Designated Territory?

According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee's designated territory will generally be an area with a population of at least 15,000 people. This population data is based on information published by the U.S. Census Bureau or other governmental agencies and commercial sources. However, the FDD specifies that the size and shape of a franchisee's designated territory can vary depending on the location and demographics surrounding their studio.

Bft determines the boundaries of the designated territory, which may be defined using zip codes, streets, landmarks, county lines, or a map. As long as the franchisee complies with the Franchise Agreement, Bft will not operate or grant a license to a third party to operate a studio within the franchisee's designated territory during the term of the agreement.

However, Bft may modify the size of the Designated Territory if a franchisee requests to relocate their studio and the relocation is approved, or at the time of any request for a successor franchise or a proposed assignment of the Franchise, if the population of the Designated Territory is over 15,000. This means that while a minimum population is set, the actual territory configuration is subject to change based on specific circumstances and the franchisor's discretion.
