What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is required to engage a qualified licensed architect to prepare drawings, designs, plans, and specifications for the studio. This is required after obtaining possession of the authorized location. The engagement of an architect is contingent on state or local codes mandating it.

Before commencing construction, the franchisee must submit these architectural plans to Bft for review and written approval. This ensures that the studio's design aligns with Bft's standards and specifications. The franchisee is responsible for covering the costs associated with the architect's services and the construction or remodeling of the studio.

This requirement ensures that the Bft studio meets all necessary legal and architectural standards, as well as the franchisor's specifications, before opening. It also allows Bft to maintain consistency across all franchise locations and uphold brand standards. Franchisees should factor in the cost of hiring a qualified licensed architect when budgeting for the initial setup of their studio.
