Does the Bft franchise agreement specify which life-saving procedures staff must be trained in?

Bft Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

During the Term, Franchisor will grant Franchisee access to its confidential online learning management platform, which includes electronic versions of manuals and written policies and procedures related to the development and operation of BFT Studios (collectively, the "Learning Management System").

The Learning Management System is anticipated to codify then-current specifications, standards and operating procedures prescribed or suggested by Franchisor.

Franchisee acknowledges that Franchisor may from time to time revise its System Standards as well as the contents of the Learning Management System (including by written memoranda and notices issued to owners of BFT Studios), and Franchisee agrees to comply with each new or changed standard and specification upon notice from Franchisor.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 FDD, the Bft franchise agreement does not explicitly specify the life-saving procedures that staff must be trained in. However, the FDD does state that franchisees must ensure their staff is adequately trained in accordance with the agreement and System Standards.

The Bft franchise agreement states that the franchisor will grant the franchisee access to its confidential online learning management platform, which includes electronic versions of manuals and written policies and procedures related to the development and operation of BFT Studios. The Learning Management System is anticipated to codify then-current specifications, standards, and operating procedures prescribed or suggested by Franchisor. The franchisee is expected to comply with these standards and specifications.

While the FDD does not list specific life-saving procedures, it emphasizes the importance of qualified and competent personnel. It is the franchisee's responsibility to ensure their staff is properly trained. A prospective franchisee should inquire with Bft about the specific training requirements for staff, including whether life-saving procedure training is part of the System Standards and what resources are available to meet those requirements.
