What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bft has the right to review any lease or purchase agreement for a proposed location before a franchisee enters into such an agreement. Bft may condition its approval of a premises as an Authorized Location for a Bft studio on certain conditions.
Specifically, Bft may require that the lease for the location includes the terms outlined in Section 7.2 of the Franchise Agreement and Exhibit 4 to the Franchise Agreement, including any Collateral Assignment of Lease as set forth in Bft's then-current Learning Management System. Additionally, Bft may require receiving a written representation from the landlord of the proposed premises. This representation must state that the franchisee will have the right to operate the Bft studio, including offering and selling the Approved Products and Approved Services, throughout the term of the Franchise Agreement.
These conditions ensure that Bft maintains control over the locations of its franchises and that the franchisees have the necessary rights to operate their studios without interference. It is important for prospective franchisees to carefully review these conditions and ensure that their lease agreements comply with Bft's requirements to avoid any potential issues with location approval.
