What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any individual who wishes to provide fitness instruction or any of the other approved services at the studio must first complete the Pre-Opening Instructor Training. This training can be completed either as part of the Initial Training Program or at a later point using the instruction materials and tests that are part of the System Standards.
Bft emphasizes the importance of this training by stating that the studio must have at least one individual who has completed the Pre-Opening Instructor Training on-site at the studio at all times when any approved services are being provided. Furthermore, Bft may terminate the Franchise Agreement if the franchisee permits approved services to be provided by any individual who has not completed the Pre-Opening Instructor Training.
The franchisee is responsible for ensuring that any Pre-Opening Instructor Training held at the studio is performed according to System Standards. They must also ensure that anyone participating in the training successfully completes the program and passes any associated tests. Bft retains the right to inspect and audit the studio's operations to verify that all required personnel have participated in and successfully completed the Pre-Opening Instructor Training and corresponding test.
Following the opening of the Bft studio, if any new or additional Authorized Instructors are hired, they will complete the Pre-Opening Instructor Training with a Head Coach, as opposed to a head coach provided by Bft. The Fundamentals Training Program will continue to be provided virtually.
