What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bft's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, during 'Discretionary On-Site Assistance', the franchisee (or its Operating Principal) and all other management personnel must be in attendance at the Bft studio. This assistance, provided at Bft's discretion, typically lasts one to two days and aims to support the studio's opening and initial operations. It may also include additional training related to the Initial Training Program or the Pre-Opening Instructor Training.
This requirement ensures that the franchisee and their management team are actively involved and receive direct guidance from Bft representatives during the critical early stages of the studio's operation. By having all key personnel present, Bft can effectively communicate best practices, address any immediate challenges, and reinforce the training provided earlier in the franchise process. This hands-on approach is intended to help the franchisee establish a solid foundation for long-term success.
The franchisee must be prepared to adjust their schedule to accommodate this on-site assistance, as Bft determines the timing and duration. Ensuring full attendance during this period is essential for maximizing the benefits of Bft's support and aligning the studio's operations with the franchisor's standards. This requirement highlights the importance of active franchisee involvement and adherence to Bft's operational guidelines.
While Bft provides this discretionary on-site assistance, it's important to note that the franchisee is responsible for covering all costs and expenses associated with their personnel attending any training programs, as outlined in other sections of the FDD. This includes wages, benefits, and travel-related expenses. Therefore, franchisees should factor these costs into their budget when planning for the studio's opening and ongoing operations.
