What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Beyond Juicery Eatery retains the right to modify the System's components and requirements applicable to franchisees. The franchisee is expected to maintain their restaurant in accordance with Beyond Juicery Eatery's standards and specifications. This includes keeping both the interior and exterior of the restaurant in good order, along with all fixtures, furnishings, signs, and equipment.
Beyond Juicery Eatery can reasonably require franchisees to upgrade their restaurants to meet the then-current System standards. These upgrades, which involve renovating and modernizing the restaurant's building, premises, signs, and equipment, can be requested by Beyond Juicery Eatery, but not more than once every five years. The purpose of these upgrades is to conform to the current image of Beyond Juicery + Eatery restaurants, ensuring consistency in building design, trade dress, color scheme, and trademark presentation. However, the cost of each renovation and modernization is capped at $100,000.
The franchisee is responsible for covering the expenses associated with these renovations, repairs, and alterations as directed by Beyond Juicery Eatery. Should a franchisee fail to complete the required renovations within 30 days of receiving written notice, Beyond Juicery Eatery has the right to complete the repairs or alterations themselves. In such cases, the franchisee is obligated to immediately reimburse Beyond Juicery Eatery for all costs incurred. This ensures that all locations maintain the brand's standards, although it places a financial responsibility on the franchisee to comply with upgrade requirements.
