What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beyond Juicery Eatery's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees operate as independent contractors. As such, Beyond Juicery Eatery does not have direct or indirect control over the franchisee's day-to-day operations or employment-related decisions. The agreement explicitly states that it does not create an employer-employee relationship between Beyond Juicery Eatery and the franchisee, their employees, or independent contractors.
This means that each Beyond Juicery Eatery franchisee is responsible for setting the terms and conditions of employment, including wages, benefits, and other employment-related decisions, for their own employees. Franchisees must also indicate their independent ownership of their restaurant in all public records and business dealings, reinforcing the separation between the franchisor and the franchisee's business operations.
This independent contractor relationship is a common structure in franchising. It allows Beyond Juicery Eatery to maintain brand standards and provide operational guidelines without being directly responsible for the employment practices of individual franchise locations. This arrangement carries both benefits and risks for franchisees. They have greater autonomy in managing their business and workforce but also bear the full responsibility for compliance with employment laws and regulations.
