What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beverly Anns Cookie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a transfer fee is required when a franchisee transfers their franchise to a new owner. The amount of the transfer fee depends on whether the transferee is an existing Beverly Ann's Cookie Truck franchisee or not.
If the transferee is an existing franchisee, the transfer fee is $7,500. If the transferee is not a current franchisee, the transfer fee is $10,000, plus an additional $1,000 for each piece of Additional Equipment being transferred. The transfer fee is paid in two parts: a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 at the time of the transfer application, and the remaining balance due at or before the completion of the approved transfer.
Additionally, if the transferee is a lead provided by Beverly Ann's Cookie or was referred to the franchisee by Beverly Ann's Cookie, the franchisee must pay Beverly Ann's Cookie an additional $15,000 on top of the transfer fee. This fee structure incentivizes franchisees to find their own buyers, but also allows Beverly Ann's Cookie to benefit if they facilitate the transfer. The franchisee must also provide written evidence of compliance with all obligations within 30 days of the transfer.
