What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beverly Anns Cookie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the transfer fee is paid in two installments. First, the franchisee must submit a $1,000 non-refundable deposit at the time of the transfer application request. The remaining balance of the transfer fee is then due at or before the time the approved transfer is completed.
The total transfer fee depends on whether the transferee is an existing Beverly Ann's Cookie franchisee. If the transferee is a current franchisee, the transfer fee is $7,500. However, if the transferee is not a current franchisee, the transfer fee is $10,000, plus an additional $1,000 for each piece of Additional Equipment being transferred.
In the event that the transferee is a lead provided by Beverly Ann's Cookie or was referred to the franchisee by Beverly Ann's Cookie, the franchisee is required to pay Beverly Ann's Cookie an additional $15,000 on top of the transfer fee. This additional payment highlights the franchisor's role in facilitating the transfer and compensates them for their efforts in finding a suitable buyer. Franchisees should factor these costs into their financial planning when considering a transfer.
