What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beverly Anns Cookie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the transfer fee depends on whether the transferee is an existing franchisee. If the transferee is not a current Beverly Ann's Cookie Truck franchisee, the transfer fee is $10,000.
In addition to the $10,000 base transfer fee, the transferring franchisee must also pay $1,000 for each piece of Additional Equipment being transferred. This fee covers the franchisor's costs associated with approving the transfer and updating their records.
The transfer fee is paid in two parts: a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is due when the transfer application is submitted, and the remaining balance is due at or before the completion of the approved transfer. Furthermore, if the transferee was a lead provided by Beverly Ann's Cookie or was referred to the franchisee by Beverly Ann's Cookie, the franchisee must pay Beverly Ann's Cookie an additional $15,000 on top of the transfer fee and equipment fees.
It is important to note that the transferring franchisee is also required to sign a general release, which releases Beverly Ann's Cookie from any known or unknown claims arising before or during the transfer. The proposed transferee must also sign a general release if they have had any previous relationship with Beverly Ann's Cookie or its affiliates.
