What training program must a Designated Manager for a Beverly Anns Cookie franchise successfully complete?
Beverly_Anns_Cookie Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Under certain circumstances, after the first 60 days of operation, we may allow you to appoint a designated manager ("Designated Manager") who has been approved by us, to run the day-to-day operations of the Beverly Ann's Business. The Designated Manager must successfully complete our Beverly Ann's Culinary Class training program (See Item 11). The Designated Manager need not have an ownership interest in the Beverly Ann's Business. If you replace a Designated Manager for any reason, the new Designated Manager must satisfactorily complete our Beverly Ann's Culinary Class training program at your own expense.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beverly Anns Cookie FDD, a Designated Manager, appointed to run the day-to-day operations of the franchise after the initial 60 days, must successfully complete the Beverly Ann's Culinary Class training program. This requirement ensures that the manager is well-versed in the brand's standards and operational procedures. If a franchisee replaces a Designated Manager, the new manager must also satisfactorily complete this training program at the franchisee's own expense.
The Beverly Ann's Culinary Class is the initial training program provided by Beverly Anns Cookie. While the FDD states that Beverly Anns Cookie provides this initial training at no cost for one attendee, it is important to note that this benefit typically applies to the Managing Owner or the initial franchisee. The franchisee is responsible for all expenses for any additional attendees to attend any training program, including lodging, transportation, food, and similar expenses.
Furthermore, if a franchisee purchases an existing Beverly Anns Cookie franchise as a result of a transfer, they are also required to attend Beverly Ann's Culinary Class and are responsible for their own travel and hotel expenses. The FDD also mentions that Beverly Anns Cookie may require designated managers to periodically attend system-wide refresher or additional training courses, which may be optional or mandatory, with associated fees potentially applicable as specified in the Brand Manual.
