What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beverly Anns Cookie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a portion of the Transfer Fee is nonrefundable. Specifically, when transferring a Beverly Anns Cookie business, GRM/GRT, ownership of the legal entity, or the Franchise Agreement, Beverly Ann's Cookie requires a Transfer Fee. The fee is either $7,500 or $10,000, depending on the transferee, plus $1,000 for each piece of Additional Equipment.
Beverly Anns Cookie requires a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit when the transfer application is submitted. The remaining balance of the Transfer Fee is due upon approval of the transfer.
This means that if a Beverly Anns Cookie franchisee decides to transfer their franchise, they must pay a $1,000 deposit that they will not get back, regardless of whether the transfer is ultimately approved. This policy is not uncommon in franchising, as it covers the franchisor's administrative costs for reviewing the application.
