What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beverly Anns Cookie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if your GR Vehicle (Grandma's Recipe Motor Vehicle or Grandma's Recipe Trailer) or any Additional Equipment is subject to a manufacturer's safety recall, you must immediately notify Beverly Anns Cookie in writing. Additionally, you are required to perform the necessary repairs, maintenance, and/or inspections at your own expense before continuing to use the GR Vehicle or Additional Equipment in your Beverly Anns Cookie franchise operation.
This requirement underscores the franchisee's responsibility for maintaining the GR Vehicle's safety and operational integrity. It also emphasizes that Beverly Anns Cookie is not responsible for any costs or obligations associated with safety recalls. This means that any expenses incurred to address a recall, including repairs and inspections, will be the sole responsibility of the franchisee, potentially impacting their operating budget.
This stipulation is fairly standard in the franchise industry, where franchisees typically bear the responsibility for vehicle maintenance and repairs. However, prospective franchisees should factor in potential recall-related expenses when assessing the overall cost of operating a Beverly Anns Cookie franchise. It would be prudent to inquire about the historical frequency of recalls for the GR Vehicle and any Additional Equipment to better anticipate potential future costs.
In summary, while Beverly Anns Cookie requires franchisees to address safety recalls promptly to maintain brand standards and safety, the financial burden of these recalls falls entirely on the franchisee. Therefore, understanding the potential implications of vehicle recalls is an important aspect of due diligence for anyone considering investing in a Beverly Anns Cookie franchise.
