Additionally, most states require a food handler's license and possibly a hawkers or peddlers license which authorizes an individual to sell food from a mobile, outdoor business. Certain city or town clerks in the communities you plan to service may have additional licensing requirements.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beverly Anns Cookie Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to local and state laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to fire safety and general emergency preparedness. These standards apply to the GRM/GRT (mobile unit) and any additional equipment used in the Beverly Ann's Cookie business.
Compliance with these regulations is crucial, as failure to comply with laws and regulations constitutes a material breach of the Franchise Agreement. This means that a franchisee's failure to meet fire safety and emergency preparedness standards could lead to significant penalties, including potential termination of the franchise agreement.
Prospective Beverly Ann's Cookie franchisees should consult with a legal advisor to fully understand the specific fire safety and emergency preparedness requirements in their local jurisdiction. This consultation will help ensure that the franchisee's business operations are fully compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, thereby mitigating the risk of penalties or legal issues.
