What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beverly Anns Cookie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a portion of the transfer fee is non-refundable. Specifically, when transferring ownership of a Beverly Anns Cookie franchise, the franchisee must pay a transfer fee. The amount of this fee depends on whether the buyer is an existing franchisee. If the buyer is a current franchisee, the transfer fee is $7,500. If the buyer is not a current franchisee, the fee is $10,000, plus $1,000 for each piece of additional equipment being transferred.
However, the FDD specifies that a $1,000 deposit is required at the time of the transfer application request. This deposit is explicitly stated as non-refundable. The remaining balance of the transfer fee is due when the transfer is completed.
Therefore, if a Beverly Anns Cookie franchisee decides to sell their franchise, they should be aware that the initial $1,000 deposit for the transfer fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether the transfer is ultimately completed.
