Can Bevaris Alliance work with for-profit charter schools?
Bevaris_Alliance Franchise · 2024 FDDAnswer from 2024 FDD Document
Bevaris works with both private and public schools, colleges, military installations, and other institutions. Private schools could include religious institutions owned and/or operated by a religious order, board of directors, or trustees not affiliated with a religious order. Public schools include charter schools controlled by state legislation or school district policies. Charter schools can be nonprofit or for-profit schools. Bevaris will also reserve the right to develop commissaries where meals can be prepared and delivered to schools without cafeterias.
Bevaris' preference is to work with schools with 600+ students.
Depending on the school, Bevaris and/or its franchisees may have several different opportunities to generate revenue. The onsite cafeteria offers breakfast, lunch and occasionally dinner. If there are dormitories on campus, some schools also have the opportunity for catering, concessions, and vending revenue.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Bevaris Alliance's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bevaris Alliance works with both private and public schools, including charter schools. The FDD specifies that public schools include charter schools controlled by state legislation or school district policies. Importantly, the document explicitly states that charter schools can be either nonprofit or for-profit entities.
This means that a Bevaris Alliance franchisee is able to pursue opportunities to provide food services to for-profit charter schools, expanding the potential customer base. This is a notable advantage, as it broadens the scope of institutions a franchisee can target for business.
Bevaris Alliance also prefers to work with schools that have 600 or more students, which may influence the franchisee's business development strategy. The FDD also mentions that revenue can be generated through onsite cafeterias offering breakfast, lunch, and occasionally dinner, as well as catering, concessions, and vending opportunities if the school has dormitories. Therefore, a for-profit charter school with a large student body and dormitory facilities could represent a significant revenue opportunity for a Bevaris Alliance franchisee.
