Better_Blend Franchise · 2024 FDD

Answer from 2024 FDD Document

  • B. Hiring and training employees. All hiring decisions and conditions of employment are your sole responsibility. (Section 7.5)

  • C. Hiring and training employees.

Our opening support (as described below) includes assisting you in training employees.

All hiring decisions and conditions of employment are your sole responsibility. (Section 7.5)

You and your general manager (or lead Blender) must attend training. You may send any additional people to training that you want (up to the maximum described above). You must complete training to our satisfaction at least four weeks before opening your business.

Your business must at all times be under your on-site supervision or under the on-site supervision of a general manager who has completed our training program, or another supervisor which you have properly trained. If you need to send a new general manager to our training program, we will charge a fee, which is currently $250 per day. Otherwise, we do not currently require additional training programs or refresher courses, but we have the right to do so.

There is no fee for up to four people to attend training. You must pay the travel and living expenses of people attending training.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Better Blend's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for all hiring decisions and employment conditions. However, Better Blend does provide some assistance with initial employee training.

Specifically, Better Blend's opening support includes assisting the franchisee in training employees. The franchisee or a general manager (or lead Blender) must attend Better Blend's training program. If a franchisee needs to send a new general manager to the training program, Better Blend charges a fee, which is currently $250 per day. The franchisee is also responsible for covering the travel and living expenses for all attendees.

While Better Blend provides initial training assistance and requires certain personnel to attend their training programs, the responsibility for hiring, managing, and setting employment conditions rests solely with the franchisee. This is a fairly typical arrangement in franchising, where the franchisor sets standards and provides initial training, but the franchisee manages the day-to-day operations and staffing.
