What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Better Blend's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Better Blend will advise franchisees regarding the layout, design, and build-out of their business premises. However, Better Blend is not obligated to assist franchisees in conforming the premises of their site to local ordinances and building codes or obtaining any required permits; these responsibilities fall solely on the franchisee.
Prior to opening, Better Blend will review and advise franchisees on potential locations they submit. However, the responsibility of locating a suitable site and negotiating the purchase or lease lies with the franchisee. Better Blend specifies the area in which a franchisee must select a site if the location isn't already known and approved when the franchise agreement is signed. The franchisor does not select the site but must approve the franchisee's choice.
Better Blend's approval process considers factors such as general location, neighborhood, competition, trade area demographics, traffic patterns, parking, size, physical characteristics of existing buildings, and lease terms. Better Blend has 30 days to approve or disapprove a proposed site after receiving all required documents and information. Failure to agree on a site can result in the franchisee defaulting on the franchise agreement if they cannot meet the opening deadline.
