According to Better Blend's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee, along with their owners if the franchise is owned by an entity, is obligated to protect the confidentiality of the Brand Standards Manual and other proprietary information. This obligation extends to using Better Blend's confidential information solely for the operation of their franchised business. Better Blend also retains the right to require managers and key employees of the franchisee to sign confidentiality agreements.

Better Blend's ownership of all customer data and point-of-sale data generated by the franchisee's business, which is then licensed back to the franchisee for their business use, further emphasizes the importance of data protection and confidentiality within the franchise system. Franchisees must also disclose to Better Blend all ideas, plans, recipes, improvements, concepts, methods, and techniques relating to the Better Blend business that they conceive or develop, which Better Blend will automatically own and have the right to incorporate into their system for use by all franchisees, without any compensation to the franchisee.
