Answer from 2024 FDD Document

  • 11.1 Manual; Modification. The Manual, and any part of the Manual, may be in any form or media determined by BBF. BBF may supplement, revise, or modify the Manual, and BBF may change, add or delete System Standards at any time in its discretion. BBF may inform Franchisee thereof by any method that BBF reasonably deems appropriate (which need not qualify as "notice" under Section 18.9). In the event of any dispute as to the contents of the Manual, BBF's master copy will control.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Better Blend's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Better Blend Franchising (BBF) has the authority to modify the Manual and System Standards at its discretion. Specifically, BBF can supplement, revise, or modify the Manual, and change, add, or delete System Standards at any time. BBF can inform franchisees of these changes through any method it reasonably deems appropriate, without needing to provide formal "notice."

This means that as a Better Blend franchisee, you must adhere to the Manual and System Standards, but these are subject to change by BBF. The master copy of the Manual maintained by BBF will be the controlling document in case of any dispute about its contents. This gives Better Blend significant control over the operations of the franchise.

This level of control is typical in franchising, where uniformity and brand consistency are considered important. However, it's important for a prospective franchisee to understand that Better Blend has the right to make these changes unilaterally. While BBF's decisions are expected to be based on reasonable business judgment, they ultimately have the power to alter the rules and standards under which the franchise operates.
