Is a Better Blend franchisee responsible for travel expenses to meetings?

According to Better Blend's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for all travel and living expenses for attending any required meetings or conventions. Better Blend requires the Principal Executive to use reasonable efforts to attend all in-person and remote meetings, including national or regional brand conventions or conferences.

Better Blend may charge the franchisee an attendance fee for Better Blend's national or regional brand convention, regardless of whether the Principal Executive attends. The franchisee must ensure that the Principal Executive does not miss more than three consecutive required meetings.

This means that as a Better Blend franchisee, you should budget for travel and accommodation costs associated with attending meetings and conventions. Even if you choose not to send your Principal Executive to a convention, you may still be charged an attendance fee. Failing to attend required meetings can also put you in breach of the franchise agreement.
