What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Better Blend's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee bears the responsibility for their technology. While Better Blend has the right to require specific technology and prohibit the use of unapproved technology, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for acquiring, operating, maintaining, and upgrading it. This includes entering into any required subscription and support agreements related to the technology.

The franchisee is also responsible for how their technology interfaces with Better Blend's systems or any third-party systems. This means that if there are compatibility issues or failures in communication between systems, the franchisee is accountable. Furthermore, the franchisee is liable for any consequences that arise if the technology is not properly operated, maintained, and upgraded. This could include operational disruptions, data breaches, or non-compliance with industry standards.

In addition to general technology management, the Better Blend franchisee must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards and all laws governing the use, disclosure, and protection of privacy information. This highlights the importance of staying current with security protocols and legal requirements related to data handling. Overall, while Better Blend sets the standards for required technology, the franchisee is responsible for the proper implementation, upkeep, and consequences related to that technology.
