What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Better Blend Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must adhere to Better Blend's designated payment methods, which may include cash, specific credit and/or debit cards, gift cards, electronic fund transfer systems, and mobile payment systems. To facilitate these payment methods, the franchisee is obligated to procure or lease the necessary equipment and establish all required business relationships.
Better Blend franchisees are also required to sell gift cards, participate in loyalty programs, and engage in customer incentive programs as directed by Better Blend. Franchisees must honor all valid gift cards, regardless of which Better Blend location issued them. The FDD states that Better Blend and the franchisee will cooperate to fairly allocate cash received from gift card redemptions to the location where the card was originally sold, although this is subject to fees and charges.
Furthermore, Better Blend retains the right to collect payments from franchisees on behalf of vendors and remit these payments to the vendors. They can also impose a reasonable markup or charge for this service. The franchisee is obligated to comply with all procedures and specifications set by Better Blend regarding gift cards, loyalty programs, and other customer incentive programs. These stipulations ensure that franchisees follow Better Blend's standards for payment processing and customer engagement, allowing for consistency across all franchise locations.
