What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Best Western's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Best Western provides notices to its Voting Members at the location specified by the Voting Member in writing. Notification to the Voting Member constitutes notification to each person or entity signing the agreement.

If a Best Western Member fails to pay dues, fees, or assessments (excluding Annual Dues) within the period outlined in the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, or Board directives, and the amount remains unpaid for 30 days after written notice of delinquency from Best Western Headquarters, the Board may cancel the Membership. This is pursuant to Article II, Section 8(C) and (D) of the Bylaws and Chapter XII of the Rules and Regulations. This rule does not apply to automatic termination for failing to pay Annual Dues by September 15, as covered in Article II, Section 2(B)(2) of the Bylaws, and it does not restrict the Board's ability to limit services under Rule 1100.8.

If a Best Western Member does not meet the standards set forth in the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, New Construction Guidelines, Renovation & Refurbishing Guidelines, or Board directives, the Board can cancel the Membership according to Article II, Section 8 of the Bylaws and Chapter XII of the Rules and Regulations. Additionally, if a Best Western Property receives two consecutive assessment scores or Guest Rooms/Public Areas Condition Report scores below 800 points, Best Western will send the Member a traceable expedited courier service with a copy of the assessment report, requiring correction of the deficiencies noted on the assessment report or a Guest Rooms/Public Areas Condition Report within a specified period.
