What are the requirements for guest room televisions in a Best Western, regarding channels and language?

According to the 2025 Best Western FDD, guest room televisions must deliver a minimum of eight different channels of programming, including at least one English-speaking channel that includes international news. A 24-hour all-news channel is not required. The television must have good, clear picture and sound, a remote control with a full mute function that is not attached to anything, and if video-on-demand is enabled, it must have clear, easy-to-follow instructions with the cost clearly stated. Televisions on metal pedestal stands are unacceptable.

For standard Best Western hotels, the minimum television size is 32 inches or larger. Best Western Plus hotels must have a minimum television size of 37 inches or larger. Best Western Premier hotels must have a minimum television size of 42 inches or larger and provide high-definition programming with a minimum of five channels.

For suites without a full wall and door separator, standard Best Western hotels must have a minimum of one 42-inch television or two 32-inch televisions, clearly viewable from both the seating and sleeping areas. For suites with a full wall and door separator, standard Best Western hotels must have a minimum of two 32-inch televisions, while Best Western Plus hotels must have at least one 37-inch television and one 32-inch television. Best Western Premier hotels must have at least one 42-inch television and one 32-inch television.
