What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Best Western's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the requirement for a third-party designer is specific to the Aiden brand. For an Aiden Membership Application to be approved, it must meet certain criteria, including that a third-party designer has cultivated an imaginative and innovative hotel design. This requirement is part of a broader set of criteria that also includes a creative food and beverage element and location within an Upscale or primarily urban area or competitive set.
This requirement indicates that Best Western places a high value on unique and modern design for its Aiden hotels. This suggests that Best Western aims for Aiden hotels to have a distinct aesthetic appeal, setting them apart from other brands within the Best Western portfolio. The involvement of a third-party designer ensures that the hotel design meets Best Western's standards for innovation and imagination.
For prospective Aiden franchisees, this means they must factor in the cost and effort of engaging a qualified third-party designer. This requirement could add to the initial investment but also ensures that the hotel aligns with the brand's design expectations. It is important for potential franchisees to understand the specific design guidelines and expectations for Aiden hotels to ensure compliance and brand consistency.
It is important to note that this requirement is specific to the Aiden brand and may not apply to other Best Western brands. Franchisees interested in other Best Western brands should inquire about the specific design requirements for those brands.
