What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Best Western's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a member must provide a written answer to the violation charges within twenty-one (21) days after the notification of violation was mailed. This written answer must be sent to the President and Chief Executive Officer, or their designee, via a traceable expedited carrier.

The response should clearly state whether the member intends to correct the violations within the given corrective period or if they dispute the existence of the violations. If the violations have already been corrected within the 21-day period, the answer must explicitly state this.

Furthermore, if corrective action is still possible within the established corrective period, the member is required to notify Best Western once the violations have been corrected. This subsequent notification must be sent no later than the final day of the corrective period. Failure to respond in a timely manner may result in further action, including potential cancellation of the membership.
