According to Best Western's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Best Western Governor is required to attend specific meetings to actively participate in the organization. Governors must attend the Governors' Conference each year. If a Governor is newly appointed, they are also required to attend the new Governor Orientation session at the Governors' Conference. Prospective franchisees should note that while Regional Governors serve without pay, Best Western may reimburse certain expenses. Governors will be reimbursed for travel expenses to attend the Governors' Conference, including airfare, lodging, and meals. However, travel to District Meetings and the Annual Convention is at the Governor's own expense.
