- There will be 7 additional Rate Levels. Each Rate Level will have both individual room type and total room counters which can be adjusted by the Property. Each Rate Level will have the full range of status conditions currently supported for rate plans, which can be adjusted by the Property. The Member may use any number of Rate Levels beyond BAR up to 7 additional levels for a total of 8. The Member can name each Rate Level and determine which rate plans are linked to which Rate Level.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Best Western FDD, a Best Western member can utilize up to 7 additional Rate Levels beyond the Best Available Rate (BAR). This brings the total to 8 Rate Levels available for use. Each of these rate levels, including BAR, has individual room type and total room counters that the property can adjust.
These Rate Levels provide flexibility in managing room availability and pricing strategies. Once Rate Levels are implemented, the property will control availability at the Rate Level rather than for individual rate plans in LYNX, Best Western's system. Members can link various rate plans to these levels, except for those LRA plans automatically linked to BAR.
Best Western members also have the ability to customize these Rate Levels by naming them and associating specific rate plans. While the initial setup might be manual through EDS, Best Western intends to provide these capabilities through Member Web or a similar electronic solution. This system enhancement allows properties to manage their rates and availability more efficiently, catering to different market segments and demand patterns.
