What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Best Western's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a member has 21 days to provide a written answer after receiving a notification of violation. This written response must be sent via a traceable expedited carrier to the President and Chief Executive Officer or their designee.

The member's answer must clearly state whether they intend to correct the violations within the given corrective period or if they dispute the existence of the violations. If the violations have already been corrected within the 21-day period, the response must specifically state this. Additionally, if there is still time left in the corrective period, the member must notify Best Western when the violations have been fully corrected, ensuring this notification is sent before the corrective period ends.

If Best Western determines that the violations either do not exist, have been corrected, or will be corrected within the allotted time, no further action is required from either party. However, if the member fails to correct the violations within the prescribed period or if Best Western is not satisfied with the corrections, Best Western will notify the member that grounds for cancellation exist. This notice will include a statement of the specific violation that remains uncorrected and the facts supporting the charge.
