What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Best Western FDD, Best Western offers consultation services and advice in areas such as operations, facilities, and marketing. These services may be provided for a fee, which can be established in advance or on a project-by-project basis. Examples of consultation services include revenue management and sales support. Franchisees are entitled to these services upon request and payment of any applicable fees.
Best Western also administers a quality assurance program for System Hotels. This program includes periodic inspections and audits, conducted at least once every 12 months with at least 24 hours' notice, to ensure compliance with Best Western's operating standards. These standards are detailed in the Manuals, which include all standards, specifications, requirements, criteria, and policies developed by Best Western for System Hotels.
In addition, Best Western has advisory committees composed of current members that provide advice on sales, marketing, and technology matters. Specifically, there is a Sales Advisory Committee (SAC) and a Reservations Technology Advisory Committee (ResTech), each with 7 participants, and a Marketing Advisory Committee (MAC) with 14 participants. These committees meet generally twice per year and serve in an advisory capacity. Franchisees are also required to participate in regional advertising cooperatives, where fees are established by a majority vote of the System Hotels within the cooperative.
