Approved August 2006 – To approve the PMS to CRS Two-Way Interface Proposal requiring property management systems with a two-way interface that has been endorsed by Best Western International, Inc. at each North American Best Western Property by December 31, 2009, and the Data Rules of Use, Compliance Rules, and other provisions of the Proposal Explanation.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Best Western FDD, in addition to installing and maintaining a Property Management System (PMS) that is certified with the Best Western Two-Way Interface, Best Western properties must also adhere to the Data Rules of Use and Compliance Rules as outlined in the Two-Way Interface Proposal. The Two-Way Interface proposal was approved in August 2006. The compliance date for having a PMS with a two-way interface was December 31, 2009, for members whose Best Western Membership was approved on or before May 31, 2005.
Compliance with these rules is critical, as failure to comply can lead to restrictions on the Best Western reservation system. Properties that do not comply are given 90 days to rectify the situation. Continued non-compliance may result in a review by the Board of Directors, potentially leading to cancellation of the Best Western Membership.
