What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Best Western's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a candidate for the position of Director must provide documentation to establish residency in the district they seek to represent. This documentation must include evidence of a permanent personal dwelling within the district.
Specifically, Best Western requires a valid state or province driver's license or identification that reflects the candidate's permanent personal dwelling in the district. Additionally, the candidate must provide a valid state or province tax return from the previous year, which also reflects the same permanent personal dwelling in the district.
Failure to provide the required documentation to prove both equity interest ownership and residency creates a presumption that the candidate is not qualified to serve as a Director for Best Western. This requirement ensures that Directors are genuinely connected to and invested in the district they represent.
